Fresh off another cruise with Virgin Voyages. My 4th actually and it's still my number one cruise line. Well, if I'm being honest I have only started cruising within the last few years. My first cruise ever was in March of 2022. Four nights traveling to Nassau and Virgin's private beach club on Bimini in the Bahamas onboard the Scarlet Lady. It was an epic experience!
Much of the public was still hesitant to cruise after the pandemic and there may have been less than 1800 people on board. Max capacity is about 2700. Having less people on board was just fine for me as a newbie but I do believe it made the experience so much more personalized and attentive. The food was absolutely on point. The entertainment was fun and the crew were so awesome and welcoming.
Fast forward 2 years later, Virgin has completed the launch of their fleet of lady ships (Scarlet, Valiant, Brilliant, and Resilient Lady). Each ship is designed with the same self described modern "yacht-inspired" design with cabins that feature tablets, mood lighting, and hammocks on almost every balcony category cabin. With no kids, no buffets, free WiFi, and so much more included you will be able to experience a vibrant adults only experience at sea. I've discoverd something new and have had a different experience on each of my cruises.
Experience unique and popular itineraries sailing from Miami, San Juan, Barcelona, Athens and more. Some of the highlights I love about VV is that you can always find something to do. Entertainment is great with new popups and shows onboard from Bingo with the Diva, comedy dinner shows, feature bands and DJ sets at The Dock, karaoke, and more. On sea days learn about the history of classic cocktails and discover you new favorite bevvie with plenty of drinks included (Path of the Negroni anyone?). Enjoy workshops, dance classes, and other cool events like Bubbles and Fried Chicken which feature fried chicken bites paired with a variety of champagne. Cheers!
Then there's Scarlet Night! A themed night where everyone dresses up or down in their favorite red outfit and parties by the pool. It's quite possibly the biggest party in the middle of the ocean each sailing.
You won't be disappointed with the food onboard either. No buffets mean just that however, if you need something like that in your life a visit to the Galley offers a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Make sure to try the Ramen or the fried avocado tacos for a quick bite in between drinks. Pink Agave, Extra Virgin, and the Test Kitchen are highly recommended for dinner, while Razzle Dazzle and the Galley are my personal go to's for breakfast and lunch.
Virgin takes health and wellness quite seriously as well. The gym has everything you need with epic ocean views along with a variety of workout classes from yoga, HIIT classes, meditation, core workouts, and more. For a bit of fun make sure to check out the VHS workout, a fun 80's inspired sweat session to get you moving and grooving (suitable for all fitness levels). Afterwards, try out one of the delicious smoothies or pressed juice drinks by the pool. The fresh squeezed tangerine was everything and gave me a quick boost.
So, is a Virgin Voyage cruise for you?
